As you may already know, a new set of regulations approved by the EU parliament known as GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) are coming into effect on 25th May, 2018. GDPR is similar to the current DPA (Data Protection Act) but with significant enhancements, offering you much more protection with your personal information and data.
While the new regulations will have little effect on the ways we display your information and store your data, as we already take precautions to ensure your data is kept secure, we think it's important to make you aware of your rights going forward.
Right to Access: You have the right to view a copy of any additional personal data that PenCraft Books has stored at any time. In addition to the information displayed to the public on your webpage, blogs, and social media; we hold your contractual information, email address and delivery address.
Right to be Forgotten (or Data Erasure): You have the right to request for PenCraft Books to erase any and all personal data of yours at any time. Under HMRC legislation we are required to hold all contractual information for a minimum of 11 years. Where you select to ask PenCraft Books to remove your data, we will remove you from our website (webpage and blogs) and will after 11 years remove your contractual information held but please be aware that we will be unable to promote you, your book(s), or deliver any further copies of your book(s) to you.
You can view the specifics of GDPR and other changes to your rights at https://www.eugdpr.org.
PenCraft Books will continue storing and displaying your data as we always have; unless you contact us to either update your information or ask for your data to be erased.
